I love being able to tell stories from my imagination and hope they fire up some one else’s imagination when they read them. The artist side of me still calls out on occasion but its the writing that really holds my interest these days.
At the time I didn’t know how I would accomplish that objective, but now 50+ years later it’s finally came true. I knew when I was 9 years old I wanted to work at home as an artist and a writer. For the last two years I’ve been pursuing a fiction writing career by releasing a series of short stories via self-publishing and just last month a collection of the same. Since then I’ve spent most of my career in the technical field of software development tools, writing, training, and managing the production of support materials and people for several international corporations.
I made enough money from the sales to supply me with a new computer (Mac PPC) and software for a couple of years. It went on for an addition 3 printings for a total of 3500 copies, of which most were sold. Even in those days I was pretty independent, writing, formatting, designing, and finding a printer to print the material, all 500 first copies.

Before that I had only written a manual on some articles for the hobbyest programmer Nibble Mac magazine and was started writing a column in a BASIC newsletter.
It’s been 22 years this month since I self-published Learning FutureBASIC: Macintosh BASIC Power, my first full length book in December of 1993.
